Truck Stop Ministry

We have a Worship Service at the TA Travel Center in Foristell, MO. every Sunday Morning at 9:00 am.  This service is geared toward serving the spiritual needs of truck drivers who are on the road helping to provide our daily needs.

We also provide transportation from the truck stop to our second service at 10:45 am at our church building on Highway T just a couple of miles south of the truck stop.

Trucker Church Celebrates 8 Years of Outreach to Truckers

Others were truckers at the service that day.The Trucker Church outreach ministry of West-Plex Community Church celebrated its 8th year anniversary the last Sunday in July, 2009, marking the attendance of more than 3220 truckers having come to services since its inception. Started as an outreach to the community where the new West-Plex church was to be started, this ministry has provided weekly worship services at the TA Truck Stop in Foristell, Missouri, and has continued its dynamic impact on truckers from all over North America, week after week, month after month, and year after year.

According to ministry leaders Paul and Lana Kruse, the entire ministry is staffed by volunteers from several local churches who greet truckers in the Truck Stop, offer praise and worship in song, sermons, Bible teaching, communion and prayer. In all this time there has been only one Sunday when no truckers have come for the service. Two other weeks through the years had services canceled due to bad weather, but otherwise, every week there have been truckers or travelers there who are grateful to be able to participate in church services at this location.

During the past two years since the founding pastor Jim Kane has been officially retired, others have filled the pulpit. On the 8th anniversary Sunday, the Rev. Rob Welch, a world traveling evangelist who lives in Lake St. Louis, brought the message for the five who gathered. Rev. Welch, founder of "For His Glory Evangelistic Ministries," has a special desire to reach the people of Africa. Of all days, there was a trucker-traveler from Nigeria in the service! Fred Anigbogu, of Lagos, Nigeria has been spending this summer traveling with his brother an over the road trucker, and they just happened to be in Foristell for this particular weekend.

Rev. Welch will be leaving for the African countries of Rwanda and Uganda for a two week evangelistic mission trip in late August. Upon his return, he'll be the featured speaker for West-Plex Community Church Mission Conference the weekend of September 26, 2009.
